We have some word definitions that commonly used in copy, printing and design environment.
- File Extensions
.PDF - The PDF file type is primarily associated
with 'Acrobat' by Adobe Systems Incorporated.
Adobe Acrobat is a family of computer programs developed by Adobe Systems,
designed to view, create, manipulate and manage files in Adobe's Portable
Document Format (PDF).
.JPG - Compressed image format standardized by
the Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG); commonly used for storing
digital photos since the format supports up to 24-bit color; therefore,
most digital cameras save images as JPG files by default.JPEG is also a
common format for publishing Web graphics since the JPEG compression
algorithm significantly reduces the file size of images; however,
the lossy compression used by JPEG may noticeably reduce the image quality
if high amounts of compression are used.
.TIFF - Tagged Image File.High-quality graphics format often used for
storing images with many colors, such as digital photos; short for "TIFF;"
includes support for layers and multiple pages.TIFF files can be saved
in an uncompressed (lossless) format or may incorporate .JPEG (lossy)
compression; they may also use LZW lossless compression, which reduces
the TIFF file size, but does not reduce the quality of the image.
.PSD - Photoshop Document. Image file created by Adobe Photoshop,
the most commonly used professional image-editing program; may include
image layers, adjustment layers, layer masks, annotation notes, file
information, keywords, and other Photoshop-specific elements.
Photoshop documents support RGB, CMYK, grayscale, monochrome, duotone,
indexed color, Lab color, and multichannel color modes.
.DWF - Drawing Web Format (AutoCAD)
DWF files are highly compressed, they are smaller and faster to transmit
than design files, without the overhead associated with complex CAD
drawings (or the management of external links and dependencies). With DWF
functionality, publishers of design data can limit the specific design
data and plot styles to only what they want recipients to see and can
publish multisheet drawing sets from multiple AutoCAD drawings in a single
DWF file. They can also publish 3D models from most Autodesk design
applications.
- Electronic Discovery
Electronic discovery
refers to any process in which electronic data is sought, located,
secured, and searched with the intent of using it as evidence in a civil
or criminal legal case.
